Thanks for you bug report.

Just as a side note:
Diodon doesn't store any items in the storage.xml anymore but directly into Zeitgeist. So no more additional diodon files.

About the warning messages you get: I will need to verify what causes this. Just to check though that I understand you correctly: Diodon still works as expected besides the message?

yes, diodon works fine besides the message...

but you brought bad (BAD) news: i needed that file to read clipboard history with many other bash scripts i use for my job...
any hint on how to get the data diodon used to store in that xml file?

thanks

interesting.... was not aware of it that other applications are reading the storage.xml file. Would be interested in the use cases for this - I am sure we can find a solution also with the new version.

As this is off topic to this issue though have I created a question https://answers.launchpad.net/diodon/+question/247214.

Please add your use cases for reading the storage.xml there and I will try to propose a solution.

summary: - ~/.local/share/diodon/storage.xml is not written after update to ubuntu

Due to clipboard uris being filtered in zeitgeist is currently a workaround necessary to be able to store clipboard items in zeitgeist.

There has been a patch submitted https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70173 to overcome this issue.

So therefore when Diodon looks for clipboard items it sometimes finds accidentally items which are actually not clipboard related. Therefore it simply prints a warning that it doesn't know a particular item resp. zeitgeist event and such event will be ignored.

So beside the warning message should there be no further impact. This still needs to be fixed though to be able to uniquely identify clipboard items. Waiting for feedback from upstream.
