Bug Description

lately, whenever I do a phone call, after the call ends, the dialer app is freezing on me. Pressing the red button appears to do nothing, the app just hangs there as if the call would still be ongoing. I am not 100% sure whether it actually ends the call or if that's the other side who's hanging up. But even if the other end hangs up, the dialer app keeps on sitting there, pretending to be in a phone call and not moving until I close it manually.

This happens for pretty much every phone call I do with turbo, on the latest rc-proposed.

I just tried to reproduce and here's one case:

Do an outgoing phone call with turbo, before the other end picks up, press the red hangup button

expected: call terminated

actual result: nothing happens. The other end goes to voicemail and I have to reboot turbo in order to make the call stop ever again.

I just ended a call, the icon did change but then the app and the entire UI froze for around 20 secs, no gestures worked
This is mx4 running proposed 326.
Is that the same symptom?

I just tested it again and recorded a video http://notyetthere.org/data/dialer.mp4 (I've no idea why it is upside down, it's not when watching it on the phone, maybe another bug, filmed on Nexus4).

It doesn't seem like it recovers after 20 seconds here. After a minute I have restarted the dialer app which makes it work again. I found out that it does not happen with all numbers (but most of them for me). So far I couldn't see a pattern though.

I think I had this problem the other day, although it's hard to say what exactly happened: I had a call, talked for a bit, and when I tried to hang up, the dialer app was unresponsive and the call kept going - desperate, I switched apps and the green panel confirmed that the call was on-going and switching back to the dialer showed it as still running. I didn't however try to press anything else to confirm that the app actually froze. Eventually the other person ended the call.

This happens to me on every call on my Bq e4.5 on ota12. I make a call and immediately the dialer is unresponsive, I cant access the keypad or end the call, all I can do is close the app and click on the green bar and tgen I can end the call.

I have a similar problem on my Nexus 4 running OTA-12. If someone calls me, I can use the red button to hang up on them. However, if I call someone else, I cannot hang up (unless I power off the phone). During the call, all buttons at the bottom of the dialer (dialpad, mute, speaker, etc.) are nonfunctional (voicemail requires the dialpad, so I can't check voicemail). The dialpad, speakerphone button, etc. worked when I first installed ubuntu-touch in April 2016; the problem might have begun with OTA-11, although I'm not 100% certain.

Same here on PRO 5 - I thought that was OTA-12 issue - but the same happens on OTA-13. Can reproduce every time. This is very frustrating. Sometimes the phone app just freezes and gives no feedback at all (whether it was a network issue or hang or anything - just freezes).

Never recovers. Though I have not tried to wait 20 seconds at every hang, just a few ones that did not involve paid waiting time. However, if I wait long enough - the dialer app just completely stops working (tapping green icon on launcher has no effect). But clicking on contact name at the address book brings dialer up.

Can provide debugging help of whatever level is needed.
