Confirmed on Natty - I've had this bug before and it's quite annoying.

I think I can persuade it to work but it should do it by default.

Try the following; select File->Page Preview and then the 'Format page' button then
go to the 'Sheet' tab on the Page style dialog that appears. At the bottom of that is a
'Scaling mode', select 'Fit print range(s) on number of pages and select 1 and that
chart looks OK in the preview at that point.

It shouldn't need that amount of effort for a simple sheet like that.

Stephen Rasku, it was noticed in the attachment:
 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/669248/+attachment/1718719/+files/Printing%20Bug.ods

that halfway down the chart the cells in each row are have a border color that is slightly different then the rows above (very obvious switching to nightmode with Compiz or using xcalib -i -a ). As well, selecting these cells and changing to Default Format does not change the cell border. The cell border color position is correlated with this printing problem. Could you please explain how the formatting of the cells?

I didn't do anything deliberate to change the border colours. I just tried to recreate the problem by generating the file from scratch and I wasn't able to. Dave Gilbert's solution will repair the file so that it will print (or at least preview) properly. It doesn't get rid of the different coloured grid lines, though.

[This is an automated message.]
There are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.

Please leave references to upstream OpenOffice.org bugs in place to allow cross pollination.
