When opening some documents saved in MS Word 2000 / XP / 2003 .doc format or in 2007 .docx format the OO Write window greys forever and CPU usage jumps up. The running Write then has to be killed. This happens under Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit with OO 3.0.1 (build 9379).
Please, find an example of culprit files. It was saved by MS Word XP. |

and it opens quickly and successfully.
4) What happens instead is Writer hangs indefinitely.
WORKAROUND: Use Abiword.
