description |
I want to autofill a series of dates, but in merged cells. I need to have a header row that is composed of 4 merge cells that states dates incrementally:
E.G. :
--------------------------------------------
|------------------
Date |------------------
|------------------
--------------------------------------------
I want to |------------------
autofill |------------------
increments here |------------------
---------------------------------------------
right now when I use the autofil feature, the increments are 4 instead of what I would expect to be 1 (because there are now 1 merged cell and not 4 separate cells). I tried to use the fill series function, but it fools the spreadsheet and fills each row, as if the cells were not merged.
Is there a way to accomplish this without having to enter each date manually ?
Thank you for your time,
David. |
1) lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Release: 12.04
2) apt-cache policy libreoffice-calc
libreoffice-calc:
Installed: 1:3.5.2-2ubuntu1
Candidate: 1:3.5.3-0ubuntu1
Version table:
1:3.5.3-0ubuntu1 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-updates/main i386 Packages
*** 1:3.5.2-2ubuntu1 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main i386 Packages
3) What is expected to happen in Calc via the Terminal:
cd ~/Desktop && wget https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/153150/+attachment/3142909/+files/example.ods && localc --nologo example.ods
is when one highlights the merged cells A1-A5 -> use the mouse to grab the bottom right corner of the cells -> drag it to cell A10, cells A6-10 are merged, and the number increments to 2 in A10. Just as it does in Excel 2010. A screenshot of how it should look in Calc: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/12607059/autoFillExpected.png .
4) What happens instead is cells A6-A10 are not merged, and each cell has a number incremented. |
