No blank birthdays

It is impossible to leave the birthday field blank for someone whose birthdays I do not know.

well, currently, if you don't change the date it will remain blank

I think it would be extremely beneficial if there was any indication of that. Would it be possible to have the default values blank, or something like MONTH, DAY, etc. instead of the current date? I can see little reason to initialize it to the current date.

I suggest making the Birthdate field like the Emails, Phones, Addresses fields, with a green Add button, so, when the user clicks on it, they get the Month, Day and Year fields, un-initalized (blank) and with a checkbox (checked by default) right beside the year that says "Unknown" this checkbox grays-out the Year field, obviously. That will be soooo nice and intuitive. Actually I will try to implement it now.
