Bug Description

Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
Release: 18.04
Codename: bionic

install latest devstack for cluster from git with script ./stack.sh

Devstack installs correctly and works.

Now restart the controller server.

It seems that the nova service does not come back online correctly.

>openstack compute service list
Unknown Error (HTTP 500)

or

>openstack flavor list
Unknown Error (HTTP 500)

Within the Openstack GUI I get various messages including:

Error: Unable to retrieve the extensions
Error: Unable to retrieve the availability zones.
Error: Unable to retrieve the keypairs
Error: Unable to retrieve flavor list.
Error: Unable to retrieve the limits.
Error: Unable to check the Nova service feature.

How can this be resolved?

For an AIO installation I cannot reproduce this issue, so please give us more information about your setup: How many nodes are you using and with which roles? What does the local.conf for the controller look like? Also please show the output of "sudo systemctl status devstack@n-api" and "sudo journalctl -u devstack@n-api".
