Bug Description

stack.sh tries to install 'python-requests' from the openstack-liberty/x86_64 repo but that fails with a message
Error unpacking rpm package python-requests-2.7.0-6.el7.noarch
error: unpacking of archive failed on file /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/requests/packages/chardet: cpio: rename

Down loading that .rpm from
http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7/cloud/x86_64/openstack-liberty/common/python-requests-2.7.0-6.el7.noarch.rpm
and installing the .rpm using yum works after which devstack/stack.sh runs to completion successfully

So this is some sort of packaging issue with your distro?

I think so. I've opened a bug with CentOS, but no response yet. Was wondering if anyone else using Devstack was encountering similar problems or had come up with a work around.

python-requests from
http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7/os/x86_64/Packages/python-requests-2.6.0-1.el7_1.noarch.rpm
will install. And stack.sh completes successfully after installing it before running stack.sh. This is the
version distributed as part of the OS, and is different from the .../cloud/x86_64/openstack/... version.
I don't know what changes Openstack has made to this package, but the openstack .rpm is broken.
