Bug Description

A good bunch of valuable documents were wiped off from the developer.ubuntu.com

The proper procedure would have been to send a message to the authors and give them time to back up their articles and move the content to an archive space.

Please dig up those old articles and let them free.

Hi Zoltan, this was an unintended and unfortunate consequence of a website change last week. I've started working on recovery.

Hello David, thank you very much.

Our team has put lots of work into the UITK API documentation and the blog posts. For many of us they are part of our publicly visible profile.

Also, the Ubuntu desktop still has both the UITK and the Ubuntu SDK as part of the distro. So all documentation is valid and relevant.

Zoltan, I'm very aware of this and recovery is a priority.

Touch/Phone docs are already at https://docs.ubuntu.com/phone and API docs have been also added there yesterday (I believe there are still some formatting issues for APIs, sources are on GH if you want to file bugs: https://github.com/ubuntudesign/phone-docs).

Today, I've filed an RT to recover blog content from a db backup and the goal is to republish the posts on Insights, with correct dates and attribution. Feel free to ping me.

Following up: I've received a db backup and I've been able to load it into a local old-devportal instance. Now working on locating which posts have not been replicated on Insights and what to prioritize.

Note that even the posts that have been replicated on Insights received updates (not only adding clarifications, but also adding whole sections for new features) contain valuable information that are not in the Insights posts (since the Insights posts were not updated).

It would be nice if I could fix the mistakes in my comment here too ;)
