Since the webcam-demo package has been revised, the new version is 1.0.1. For example,
sudo systemctl status -l webcam-
Furthermore, any attempt to assign /dev/video0 to this application fails with a strange message:
sudo snappy hw-assign webcam-
snappy package not found

The .sideload references have been replaced by .canonical, since the guide has switched from a local snap to a store one. This fixes the second issue.

I think it's because the original version of the guide was written with a locally-installed snapp, whereas a store snapp was made available afterwards. At least that's what I think. After changing the instructions to .canonical, the guide worked for me

Thanks Tim, I've fixed the version.
I'm also adding snappy to the report for that odd issue.
