Using Trusty:
sudo ubuntu-device-flash core 15.04 -o my-snappy.img --size 4 --channel edge --oem beagleblack --enable-ssh --device-part=./device.tar.xz
unknown flag `o'

Using Vivid:
sudo ubuntu-device-flash core 15.04 -o my-snappy.img --size 4 --channel edge --oem beagleblack --enable-ssh --device-part=./device.tar.xz
unknown flag `oem'

outdated udf i am sure... try dist-upgrade with tools or beta ppa enabled and let us know

Hello, thanks for the report. It's likely that you have the wrong PPA enabled.
The one you need is mentioned at the top of: https://developer.ubuntu.com/en/snappy/start/

I've added it to the guide to make that clear.
