The fix on bug 927588 was a great improvement to getting more visibility on apps to review.
That meant that when a developer sends a comment, the app status is changed from Needs Information to Pending Review, which is what we want.
However, unless reviewers don't check the Pending Review queue on MyApps regularly for changes (*), the fact that there is no e-mail notification upon the move from Needs Information to Pending Review means that reviewers still miss most of the feedback from app developers, which translates into long delays in coming back to them.
My suggestion would simply be that:
- An app status change from Needs Information to Pending Review due to a developer comment generates a notification e-mail
- The notification e-mail contains the app developer comment
- For extra points, any additional app developer comments while the app is in Pending review, also generates an e-mail containing the comment.
(*) and even if they do, it's difficult to tell whether new apps have been moved there unless you keep track of the list in an external resource, such as a Trello board or a spreadsheet. |
