Daemon doesn’t update file list at runtime

Bug Description

Daemon is not started or crashing? when location for pictures is not mounted.

I usually have the location for the pictures not mounted at startup / login.
No wallpaper is displayed then which is OK.

After mounting location, daemon must be started manually in oder to work.

Daemon should update file list:
 * if it sets a wallpaper that doesn’t exists
 * if there are no wallpapers
 * after an adjustable time

Thank you for this bug report.

The daemon creates a file list at startup. But the list will never be updated at runtime. If images are added or removed, the daemon won’t recognize it.

There is also be another problem: If the daemon finds no wallpapers, it will quit.

I have plans for a solution. But they didn’t get into the 0.7 series, because of the slow development.

Scheduled for the next release. DesktopNova 0.9 will be almost completely rewritten, so I have a lot to do. Do not expect a fast fix or release.

Planned fix: A new thread scans for wallpapers if one of the above conditions occur. After that the new and old file list is swapped.

milestone: none → 0.9
status: Triaged → In Progress
