Bug Description

On booting the kernel always send this notice :

Jan 18 08:29:20 alt kernel: tpm_tis 00:08: tpm_transmit: tpm_send: error -62
Jan 18 08:29:20 alt kernel: tpm_tis 00:08: TPM self test failed

Both BIOS options of the TPM are in state ACTIVATE.

Doesn't reproduce on my system with kernel 3.2.0-39-generic #62+kamal15~DellXPS. Does the latest kernel make a difference for you?

Here is the exact error I get :

[ 1.455668] tpm_tis 00:08: TPM self test failed

The version of my kernel :
Linux alt 3.8.0-1-mainline-dellxps #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Jan 16 12:58:16 CET
2013 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Are you still experiencing this issue? Which version of the XPS 13 do you have?

Also, please try the following:
- Run this command: echo "options tpm_tis itpm interrupts=0 force" | tee /etc/modprobe.d/tpm_tis.conf
- Reboot
- After rebooting, report the output of "dmesg | grep tpm"

Thank you for your response.

I still have the same error.

Adding that line to my modprobe configuration did not solve the issue.
