Bug Description

Since Network-manager has been update on the mini to version 0.7, I can no longer set the submask to the proper value (i.e. 255.255.255.0). This happens when I want to use a manual configuration for a wired connection. Instead of the submask I set, a number (24, usually) is saved and the connection doesn't work. I noticed that this only happens when trying to change the "auto eth0", while the submask is saved correctly when creating a separate wired profile.

To reproduce:
Open network-manager ("edit connections") and edit auto et0. Select the "ipv4 settings" tab. In the drop down select "manual". Fill in all the required fields (IP, gateway and submask.

Expected:
All parameters are saved correctly.

Actual:
Instead of the value typed in for submask, another is saved (usually 24, or 25), and the connection doesn't work.

P.S. this is a known problem in network manager 0.7 in intrepid. There are bugs filed for it such as:

Could not reproduce. Please update to network manager 0.7.1 and give system info.

I wish I could, but the version of network manager currently on hardy for the mini is still set at 0.7 (the same as in intrepid, for which the same bug applies).

I want to stress that this bug applies only to network manager version 0.7. In Jaunty (which uses 0.7.1), everything is fine.

If an upgraded is needed to fix this bug, please provide packages for us to upgrade. Otherwise this bug still stands in hardy for the mini and intrepid.

0.7.1 was just pushed through to the proposed repositories for the dell mini. You should be able to upgrade.
