xmame reports byte ordering problem

Bug Description

xmame and xmess from the dell-mini archive both exit with the following error:

error: compiled byte ordering doesn't match machine byte ordering.
compiled for MSB first, are you sure you chose the right cpu in makefile.unix?

The i386 version of the package does not have this problem if I repackage it for lpia.
