Bug Description

Flash applets using sound don't play along with other (e.g. gstreamer) sounds on my system.

Case 1: Banshee or Totem is running. I stop the playback, switch to Firefox and go to youtube. Videos will play, but be quite choppy and sound isn't working. If I close Totem/Banshee and restart Firefox Flash videos work again.

Case 2: I am watching a Youtube video, pause it. Open Banshee/Totem and click on play. Nothing happens. Neither video, nor sound plays back, no error message is displayed. If I close Firefox and restart Totem/Banshee it works again.^

I am pretty sure this problem has not persisted from the beginning, it was probably introduced with one of the last updates. It does not matter, btw, whether I select ALSA or pulseaudio in gstreamer-properties.

Thanks feranick! That fixed it for me too!

So -ahem- this sounds like it's a serious issue with pulseaudio. Would it make sense to install "libflashsupport" [1] by default?
