Bug Description

I think there should be an option to run command before/after making the backup.
For example I prefer to store the backup on my local machine (so I can access it any time) however I would like to store also a remote copy of the backup.

So my setting would be:
Before command: (nothing)
Backup...
After command: /home/user/bin/rsync-backup-to-remote-server.sh (it would also check is the remote server is up)

I'm not likely to work on this in the near future, but I understand the desire. I'm not sure I would want to expose this in the UI.

Hey there! Any news on this issue? :-)
As a Desktop User, i would like to do some cleanup (calling BleachBit for instance) before backup-ing megabytes of useless files...

Oh yes actually - I forgot this wishlist bug existed or I would have closed it. But since 43.2 (in 2022), there are three gsettings keys you can use for this sort of thing:

- custom-tool-setup
- custom-tool-teardown
- custom-tool-wrapper

There's no UI for these settings, so you'll have to use dconf-editor (or if you're using a flatpak release, edit ~/.var/app/org.gnome.DejaDup/config/glib-2.0/settings/keyfile)
