I propose the following simple feature (which is reminiscent of what Dropbox and Ubuntu One does). How about adding an emblem to folders who have been marked for back-up? As deja dup is not a "syncing" feature, then the "checkmark" and "in progress" emblems don't really fit. I would suggest a lock of some type.
Another thing which nautilus provides is "Notes" that one can add to folders. How about every time a folder is backedup a simple log entry is appended to the end of the "Notes"? Something like:
- Automated Deja Dup note : 2011.06.2 21:39:05 folder %folder_name successfully backed up |
