Support for Google Cloud Storage

It would be nice with support for google storage for developers as a backup device.

That's a pretty obscure, technical service to support, not sure I'd want to surface it as a toplevel location.

I second this feature request. Google Storage for Developers has a RESTful interface compatible with Amazon S3, so it should not be a technical problem. Moreover, there are command line tools which already incorporates its API, i.e. HashBackup and GSUtil.

Give people a chance to decide where to store their files and do not limit them to Amazon S3.

I'm really not sure this should be used for backup purpose. It's seems way more expensive than Google drive.

I think this is now called Google Cloud Storage and can be a lot cheaper than Google Drive.
Google added a "Nearline Storage" type für 0.01 USD/month.

Duplicity gained support for this in version 0.6.22: https://bugs.launchpad.net/duplicity/+bug/1030868

It would be really nice if this could be exposed in th GUI.

Support will land in xenial.
It is not enabled by default, you need to install python-boto.
