Bug Description

I use the online storage service provided by 1&1. I can access this service no problem using webDAV, which opens as folder in my home directory. I installed Deja Dup to use as a backup tool, but when during setting the preferences I selected my wedDAV account as the backup directory the programme immediately crashed. Now I can open the programme, but as soon as I try to set the preferences again it crashes immediately. Even if I uninstall and reinstall the same thing happens.

So, I need to know how to stop it crashing before I can reset the preferences, plus it would be great to know why Deja Dup doesn't seem to like this particular webDAV service. I've scoured the forums and can't find anyone else who has had this problem!

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS

deja-dup 14.1-0ubuntu0.1
duplicity 0.6.08b-0ubuntu2

I ran DEJA_DUP_DEBUG=1 deja-dup | tail -n 200 > /tmp/deja-dup.log and replicated the problem but the log is empty!!

This is the content of deja-dup after running the line: gconftool-2 --dump /apps/deja-dup > /tmp/deja-dup.gconf

I've turned this into a question because if no one else is having this problem it's probably not a bug! :)

Sorry, I know this has been open for a long time. I haven't been able to reproduce for lack of a 1&1 account. I've emailed their sales team to see if there is a public testing account or the like.

They IMHO use the same server as 1&1, because both are just brands of the "United Internet" company.

typo, awesome, thanks! I was able to connect to it for a bit today (and successfully made a backup with trunk). But now I can't connect anymore. Not sure why. Nautilus just times out forever.

typo, it crashes in the preference screen for you? I'm curious if 18.x works better in this regard (available in Ubuntu 11.04). Do you have a machine with that which you can test?

Using Ubuntu 11.04 I can't open the web storage in Nautilus, because the load process is endless and can't make a backup in Déjà Dup, because the load process is endless. (Preparing…) But I don't get an segmentation fault anymore.

I just tested this again on 11.10. I was able to connect via nautilus and make a backup. Can someone else test this too on 11.10? Maybe this got fixed in the nautilus/gio stack.
