Bug Description
My wife's hard drive died in her netbook. I am unable to restore her back-up to our spare computer to get some files for her. In an attempt to rule out a problem with this backup in particular I have tried setting up some dummy accounts. I have tried backing up small amounts of data and then accessing them as another user on another machine, as the same user on another machine, and as a different user on the same machine, and have been unsuccessful. After setting all the permissions and entering the correct passwords I always get this error:
BackendException: Could not copy sftp://
or something similar as the pathnames can vary.
Google has led me to believe that this is an issue with permissions but even when I run deja-dup as root, and/or alter the permissions of the backup files, backup source drive and destination drive, I still get the error.
Am I missing something? Is it possible to restore her files to her new computer when we get it? Is it possible to access them from my account on my computer?

I just reread my post and I was unclear what the location of the backups is. The backups are all made to external hard drives accessed with ssh.
