Bug Description
A UI enhancement to make backing up to a network Location clear non IT users is required.
Destination is a share on a NAS on a home network.
Specifically Kubuntu 17.10, which may be different from Gnome distros.
Details:
In the UI under 'Storage Location', when 'Local Folder' is selected, the 'Choose Folder...' button lets the user select a folder easily and without knowing any syntax. And is good. But under "Network Server" the user must paste something in. This is not OK. It takes more steps. It is more failure prone. All in all scary and tricky for non IT users. This is a usability request.
Expectation suggestion:
In 'Storage Location', "Network Server", a new button is added "Choose Folder", which opens a file picker that includes network shares, as is done in the Dolphin file manager (Kubuntu)
A share can be selected here to add it as the Server Address
Distro: Kununtu 17.10
Deja Dup version 36.3
Further Info
If user selects Local Folder, then Choose Folder, the Option "Other Locations" does not show File Manager mounted Shares in Kubuntu. In Ubuntu Mate 18.04 is does!
So Ubuntu Mate has a workaround. Kubuntu 17.10 not.
