Bug Description
I noticed Deja Dup was spending a huge time backing up my ~/.var/
This is currently difficult to do manually because I currently have to either (a) manually exclude all of ~/.var/app (too much! I do want to back that up!) or (b) manually exclude the cache directories of individual apps (silly and fragile as it breaks when I install new apps).
My suggestion is to skip any directory matching the form ~/.var/
I'm using Fedora 27:
$ deja-dup --version
deja-dup 37.1
deja-dup is actually version 38.0-1.fc27. Did you forget to bump the version number, or did something horrible go wrong downstream?
$ duplicity --version
duplicity 0.7.17
