Bug Description
I have both ~/.dbus and ~/.gvfs folders in the exclude list, still after backup process completes, it says:
"Could not back up the following files. Please make sure you are able to open them.:
/home/yv/.dbus
/home/yv/.gvfs
"
-------
My environment:
$ lsb_release -d
Description: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
$ dpkg-query -W deja-dup duplicity
deja-dup 34.2-0ubuntu1.1
duplicity 0.7.06-2ubuntu2

This is bug 1313034, which was apparently fixed in duplicity 0.7.08.
Duplicity 0.7.08 is not in Ubuntu yet but you can get an even more recent version from ppa:duplicity- team/ppa (https:/ /launchpad. net/~duplicity- team/+archive/ ubuntu/ ppa). Hopefully when it enters Ubuntu it will be backported to the previous Ubuntu releases.
Note that ~/.gvfs is excluded by default (even if it is not in the exclude list), along with ~/.cache, ~/.cache/deja-dup, ~/.Private, ~/.adobe/ Flash_Player/ AssetCache, ~/.recent- applications. xbel, ~/.recently- used.xbel, ~/.steam/root, ~/.thumbnails, ~/.xsession-errors, /var/tmp, /tmp, /proc, /run, /sys (file http:// bazaar. launchpad. net/~deja- dup-hackers/ deja-dup/ 34/view/ head:/libdeja/ OperationBackup .vala, function get_always_ excluded_ dirs).
