Bug Description
Hi,
Observed behaviour:
I try to remove some entries from "Folders to ignore" in the UI.
Whenever I do that more folders are actually added, in the UI and also in gsettings.
Expected behaviour: Adding and removing a folder does not add more folders.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Add folder to ignore list in UI
2. gsettings get org.gnome.DejaDup exclude-list | wc
3. Close UI
4. Open UI
5. Remove added folder
6. gsettings get org.gnome.DejaDup exclude-list | wc
Observe number of folders doubled - 1.
$ lsb_release -d
Description: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
$ dpkg-query -W deja-dup duplicity
deja-dup 34.2-0ubuntu1
duplicity 0.7.06-2ubuntu2

Hello Marius.
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
When trying to reproduce this I found that the path variables for $TRASH and $DOWNLOAD are replaced by their path. So the number of excluded items stays the same, but the byte and word count increases because of the longer path. Is that the behavior you complain about?
If not: Can you please provide us with the output of "gsettings get org.gnome.DejaDup exclude-list" in step 2 and 6 of your reproduction steps? Might be somehow related to the folders.
Best regards
Vej
