Bug Description

My backup fails with this error:

Backup location is too small. Try using one with more space.

I've since tried to make more space, but I still get this error.

This error would be much more useful if it told me how much free space was required.

$ lsb_release -d
Description: Ubuntu 12.10
$ dpkg-query -W deja-dup duplicity
deja-dup 24.0-0ubuntu1
duplicity 0.6.19-0ubuntu2.2

In addition... why is it for the program to judge how much space is enough?

I'm backing up just over 5GB to a 20GB volume, which it refuses to use, despite clearly being enough.

It's been a while since the very last post, but I am facing this problem right now ... .

I Am trying to backup ~50GB to my webdav (RasPi with Owncloud 9.1), i got about 700GB free space left for the backup folder.

DejaDup reads the folder I want to backup (/home) and tells me, there was not enough space left on the backup location.

+ This is obviously wrong
+ My home partition has > 20GB free space
+ My root partition has > 20GB free space (/tmp is mounted here)

So, i do not know how much space is needed nor do i know how much space deja dup thinks there is left .... .

The problem might be not enough space in your /temp-folder. See bug #872233 for details.

To be clear, this bug report is not about whether or not Deja Dup is right to complain about lack of disk space. This bug report is specifically about the fact that when Deja Dup complains about the lack of disk space, it does not say how much free space is actually required.
