I have the identical problem, with the identical message & nonsense IP address.
I am also running Ubuntu 12.04, with up-to-date packages.
I did some Googling and found only the following page, where I followed the instructions within: johnglotzer. blogspot. com/2012/ 10/deja- dup-thinks- current- computer- name.html
http://
Issuing this Python command... 109-110. tvc.ip. com
python -c 'import socket; print socket.getfqdn()'
resulted in this output...
66-152-
I added the following line to my hosts file. (I'm using Catin's hostname for illustration.)
127.0.0.1 Presario- Ubuntu. localdomain Presario-Ubuntu
Now the command...
python -c 'import socket; print socket.getfqdn()'
...results in output "localhost"
Hope this helps someone else.
