Bug Description

My computer is "Presario-Ubuntu" yet, DejaDup says it is 66-152-109-110.tvc.ip.com and I have no idea how this happened or what to do about it.

Distribution: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
Version of deja-dup: 22.0-0ubuntu2
Version of duplicity: 0.6.18-0ubuntu3

I have the identical problem, with the identical message & nonsense IP address.
I am also running Ubuntu 12.04, with up-to-date packages.

I did some Googling and found only the following page, where I followed the instructions within:
http://johnglotzer.blogspot.com/2012/10/deja-dup-thinks-current-computer-name.html

Issuing this Python command...
python -c 'import socket; print socket.getfqdn()'
resulted in this output...
66-152-109-110.tvc.ip.com

I added the following line to my hosts file. (I'm using Catin's hostname for illustration.)

127.0.0.1 Presario-Ubuntu.localdomain Presario-Ubuntu

Now the command...
python -c 'import socket; print socket.getfqdn()'
...results in output "localhost"

Hope this helps someone else.

This was an issue with duplicity. Patched upstream and fixed in current flatpak & snap.
