Bug Description

Background Information

1) GNU/Linux Distro: Trisquel 5.5 (trisquel.info)
2) deja-dup/duplicity version:
2a) deja-dup 20.1-0ubuntu0.2+5.5trisquel2
2b) duplicity 0.6.15-0ubuntu2

Feature Request: I am requesting the ability with Deja Dup to set the nice priority for the backup. Nice is provided by GNU coreutils and allows the user to run a program with modified scheduling priority. For example, when Deja Dup runs on my system I notice an overall slow down of my system. It would be a good feature to be able to schedule my backups as a less favourable scheduled program so that it does not impact the performance of my system.

Thank you.

We do run duplicity with 'nice' if it is installed. And ionice. So maybe the slowdown is more complicated.

Maybe it is an issue with my computer (being slow) or something more complicated as you state.

Either way I still think it might be a good feature if the nice or priority level could be set by the user. Just because I may want to set my priority of deja-dup to low doesn't mean all users may want to do it like this. I could easily see a user with a backup scheduled once a month who wants to run it at a high priority because they want to make sure it completes as quickly as possible.
