Bug Description
Hi,
There have been occasional requests previously for elements to be removed or relocated in the DAP interface, but the primary interface has either been maintained or had elements added. While this may be redundant for a conventionally-
I have written a module for Decibel Audio Player that restructures the interface for improved screen-space usage on Netbook displays. The module I have written is activated via the preferences menu and relocates, resizes or removes some elements of the interface, all in pursuit of a cleaner use of the space available. The primary alterations are:
* The control panel is resized and relocated below the Library/File Explorer.
* The track info and album cover are hidden, relying instead on the tracklist and titlebar for the necessary contextual display.
* The tracklist control buttons (Repeat, Shuffle and Clear) are hidden, as their functionality is repeated by accessing the right-click menu of the tracklist.
* The border surrounding the primary elements of the interface has been reduced by approximately 1/3.
* The view menu, below the title bar, has been hidden, as it causes issues with the module.
The primary outcome of the module is that it virtually doubles the screen-space allocated for the tracklist, while the only elements that are subsequently reduced in size are the Library/File Explorer, by a tiny percentage, and the slider button, which has been reduced in size by approximately 40%.
Upon deactivation of the module, the interface is returned to it's original state.
Due to the fact this is a module, that is activated by choice, and does not alter any core functionality inherent in DAP, I felt it may be suitable for others to use. Since completing the module I have found that I use it not only in the Netbook's environment but also on my large-screened desktop, as the small size of the tracklist was always a personal point of contention with DAP.
