[Feature Request] ability to play streams (online radio etc)

Hello,

One thing decibel is really missing is the ability to play online streams. The simple support to put a m3u or pls file containing the adress (http:whateverherestands) in the playlist window would be enough i think.

Is there a progress on this topic? Would be nice to know if we can play radiostreams in the future, still its a shame that i'm not able to contribute something on the side of coding. :(

It should be trivial to add this functionality via a new module, though: having something do

playbin uri=a-radio-stream

I can try programming the module myself. It would be nice to have some guidance from the development team.

An internet radio module would be amazing indeed. It could have some preloaded stations or even shoutcast search capabilities. I'd love to see that in decibel.
