Bug Description

My decibel-audio-player 0.11 has hard times when shutting off. Earlier it couldn't turn off at all and gnome had to kill it (or I had to do it myself). Now when I try to turn it off it does turn off, but the sound is still playing and the 'ps -aux' still shows its process working and so again I have to kill it.

Oups, I commented the wrong bug.

Do you use the Last.fm plugin?

Well I have the last.fm plugin turned on but I can't say I use it as I can't write my login & password anywhere.
Do you think the shutting off problems are connected with this plugin?

The first time the module tries to submit data to Last.fm, it asks you your login/password. Then if you choose to store this data, it will be retrieved from the Gnome keyring (in most cases) and you will never be prompted again for it.

Regarding the problem you reported, it could be the cause, as if the module is unable to submit data, the application might hang.

I'm sure the plugin has never asked me for any data. But still turning the plugin off resulted in decibel being able to shut down properly :).
Thanks for help in this. Still this seems to be a problem - app being unable to shut down because of a audioscrobbler plugin :/

In recent versions, the window is hidden immediately, and the application shuts down when all modules have finished doing their own stuff. If the AudioScrobbler module is enabled, the application will not shut down until either (i) data has been submitted to AudioScrobbler's servers or (ii) a timeout occurs (for instance if the server doesn't respond). In the second case, you may have to wait a bit before the application shuts down, that's not something that can be fixed.
