Bug Description

Under Hardy (decibel 0.9 from sources)
Notifications look strange, the « <span> » strings are in the notification (see the .png).
If I remove the « <b> » I still have the « <span> » ones.

Nice player indead, realy just I want !

I tried the .deb from hardy (simpler… no ?).
Same problem.

I guess libnotify has changed in Hardy. Right now I'm using a Gutsy, so I can't try to fix this problem.

Where can I report the bug for Hardy ?

I never program anything so… don’t trust this…
But, in the source I search for « span » src/modules/DesktopNotification.py and remove the two « <span> » at line 67 and the two « <b> » at line 31 and install.
All run fine.
For the people who using Hardy, you can find as attachemment the file .py (maybe you can just put them in your /usr/share/decibel-audio-player/src/modules/) don’t know if it work.

You can too just get the sources here : http://decibel.silent-blade.org/uploads/Main/decibel-audio-player-0.09.tar.gz
Put the attachment file in the src/modules in sources, (change the prefix path in Makefile file if you want to install in /usr) and do a simple :
« sudo make install ».

The solution I propose in my last comment work great.
Why not put it in the hardy package ?
You just have to change the /usr/share/decibel-audio-player/src/modules/DesktopNotification.py file.

I'm not an Ubuntu packager. If I include your code in the official package, it won't work for other distributions, and even for Ubuntu prior to Hardy.

It looks like libnotify in Hardy no longer interpret code in the title, which either a bug or a break in compatibility with previous version.

Sorry to post again…
If you're not the packager, where am I supposed to post this bug ?

Additional tag have been removed since it seems that their support is not uniform across distributions. Users that want them, and are using a distribution supporting them, should add them themselves in the configuration of the DesktopNotification module.
