Configuration should be kept in .config, as per the Basedir FreeDesktop spec

Currently the configuration of Decibel is kept in ~/.decibel-audio-player, causing clutter. I suggest moving the config to the standard FreeDesktop location, to ~/.config.

Sorry, I didn't know about that. Actually almost all the applications I use go straight to ~/, that's why I used the same "standard".

Indeed, and as such these applications do not respect the FreeDesktop
Basedir spec. Since Decibel is a relatively young application, it is
better to do things the right way from the beginning.
