Start up minimized in the tray.

Bug #146668 reported by Emilio Pozuelo Monfort on 2007-09-29
Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
Decibel Audio Player
François Ingelrest

Bug Description

It would be nice to have an option in the tray icon plugin so that decibel starts up minimized in the system tray.

Well, after working in the previous feature enhancement (#152698, "Closing the Main Window should hide the Application"), it was really easy to close this one. The only minor annoyance is that you can see the main window hiding when starting the application. This is because the "hide main window" sentence is in the StatusIcon module (which I made mandatory working in the bug #152698).

Warning: This patch includes both bugs resolved, #152698 ("Closing the Main Window should hide the Application"), and this one. Moreover, the patch includes only the files changed from the last release (0.06.3).

I hope you accept this patch. :-)

Marcelo, this isn't a patch, but the complete source, right?

Could you make a patch against decibel 0.07, doing:
diff -ruN decibel-audio-player-0.07.my_copy/ decibel-audio-player-0.07.orig/

If so, I'll test it and if it's good maybe François will commit it :)

Woops, it should be 'diff -ruN old-directory new-directory' and not the other way round.

When I start a program, that's because I want to use it. I don't see the point of starting a program to immediately hide it.
