Bug Description

I don't have a /etc/X11/xorg.conf natively on my system so I tried on console:
sudo stop gdm
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
cd /etc/X11/
sudo Xorg -configure

but I got a segmentation fault with backtrace on /var/log/Xorg.0.log:

[ 144.690] (--) vmware: X configured to use vmwgfx X driver assume who ever did that knows what they are doing
[ 144.775] (--) vmware: Please ignore above "[drm] failed to load kernel module "vmwgfx""
