Bug Description

Binary package hint: tex4ht

Using Ubuntu 7.10 and with tex4ht version 20070717-2:

Running tex4ht (or other executables in the directory which call it) raises error message:

----------------------------
tex4ht.c (2007-04-21-21:07 kpathsea)
tex4ht plan
--- warning --- Can't find/open file `tex4ht.env | .tex4ht'
--- error --- Illegal storage address

In fact the file it is looking for is at (/etc/tex4ht/tex4ht.env) but it doesn't search here.
By using the -hV flag I noticed that it searches (among other places) in your home directory for either "tex4ht.env" or ".tex4ht".

Thus I have a crude fix which is to copy/link the installed file from /etc/tex4ht/tex4ht.env to ~/.tex4ht

However, this file should probably be put somewhere in tex4ht's public search path.

According to the Debian maintainer, this should be closed by 20080701 which has been uploaded to jaunty. Pls. reopen if this is not the case.
