Bug Description

Binary package hint: rubber

I am using the Gedit LaTeX plugin (http://live.gnome.org/Gedit/LaTeXPlugin) to compile a document using the "nomencl" package provided by texlive-latex-extra. The default plugin command for producing a PDF is:

rubber -f -s --inplace -d "%f"

where %f is the full name of the .tex file being compiled. No nomenclature appears in the document unless type the following in a terminal:

makeindex mydocument.nlo -s nomencl.ist -o mydocument.nls

... and then re-run rubber from the plugin. Although the plugin has a facility for running multiple commands, it would be nice (wishlist!) if this was handled automatically by rubber.

I have the same problem using rubber without any plugin. But, it should be an easy task for a programmer who is familiar to python. There are already extensions (so called "modules") for some packages.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?

Yes it is. Rubber doesn't still recognize the nomencl-package. The Nomenclature is still absent if you proceed like the first comment describes.

Since this report have a long time without activity, could you check (if is possible) in latest Ubuntu Karmic version if this issue is still happening? Thanks in advance.

The main development branch, recently imported to Launchpad, contains basic support for the nomencl package. Could you check if that addresses the issue?
