Bug Description

Rhythmbox not support cue sheet for lossless audio disk image (external and embedded) and cue sheet for tracks.

It's a bit strange. There is a lot of peoples, who need support of cue sheet. There is a few open source players for Linux with proper cue sheet support (Audacious, DeaDBeeF, qmmp) - Rhythmbox and GStreamer developers can use code from this player for implement cue sheet support in Rhythmbox. Users ask Rhythmbox developers about that last five years (looks like the first time it happened here: http://<email address hidden>/msg02395.html ), but support of cue sheet still not implement in Rhythmbox. Even Amarok have basic cue sheet support since version 2.3. So, maybe it's a time for cooperate Rhythmbox and GStreamer developers and add cue sheet support to Rhythmbox?

I concur : I'd like cue sheet support for any format, lossless or lossy, that cue sheets are for. I'd like to be able to skip to selected parts of an audio file such at Pink Floyd's Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1-5) and (Parts 6-9) and the Atom Heart Mother suites, skip over Coldplay's Lovers In Japan to hear Reign Of Love (in Viva La Vida), Alphabet Street in Prince's Lovesexy, and so on ; all this without having to split the original file in chunks. Audio CD tracks are subdivided in Indexes, according to the Red Book standard. It certainly is time. Thanks in advance ?

Maybe i don't understand something but does it require big refactoring or some external libraries or maybe something else? As i understand player should be able to add cue records to media library instead of actual file and be able to play it from particular time. Maybe i see it so simple because i'm not a developer) Would be glad to hear what prevents developers from implementing it.

why this bug has so low importance? I mean most other players have support for cue, i like rhythmbox but this bug pisses me off

General:
Not a Bug. It's a feature.
Please Forward it to the Rhytmbox feature requests list with not "to be done never" priority.

Details:
Hi! I'm Ubuntu 17.10 user, Erlang developer, Russia
I have cheap old (Intel Core i5) notebook with cheap 1TB HDD and have no mp3 files on it.
Mp3 good for online audio streaming services only because of traffic consumption.

My locally stored audio almost totally in flac+cue. Because I can listen mp3 online and if I want listen cool sound in my pretty expensive headphones I listen lossless e.g. flac+cue.

Please fix it.
BTW, this is not a bug. This is a feature needed by a lot people.
Wrong priority. Not related to 2017(2018 soon) year.

P.S. Can't press "affect" button because of issue tracker timeout error.
P.P.S Hope, this message wouldn't be read by anybody in 2027.
