I have the same problem, pngnq crash on version check (tiles@home, svn rev 9242, hardy amd64).

I've tried with the fix proposed on the related debian bugs (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=491860), it fix the problem for me.

after rebuilding the package (with the fix), pngnq -V shows:

dex@anne:~$ pngnq -V
pngnq 0.5

Thanks for reporting this, since the fix is quite trivial I'd suggest we wait until this is fixed by debian and sync. If this will not be done before freeze we will make it as an ubuntu specific change.

I will be able to upload a fixed revision to Debian only on Saturday.
Probably the freeze won't happen before Saturday, right? :-)

Best regards,
Nelson
