This also breaks automatic setting of WINS servers (/etc/dhcp3/dhclient-enter-hooks.d/samba), which is necessary for proper SMB networking if the network setup is non-trivial. In my case, I have a Samba server in a different subnet that isn't accessible unless the 'wins server' option is set in the smb.conf, either manually or by the script above.
I googled around for a bit, but found nothing on how to replicate this functionality with resolvconf.
