Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus-image-converter

nautilis-image-converter is a great addon for nautilus, thanks for this one!
Today, I wanted to resize some images. Some are rotated. If I set the new size to 800x600, all images (which originally are 1600x1200) are resized to 800x600 (as expected). However, all 1200x1600 images (= rotated) are converted to 600x450. I would expect the longest side would be resized to 800, so the resulting image would be 600x800.

Is it possible to add an option which provides this behavior?

Shouldn't you rotate them first?

It's with x height, not long x narrow.

If you put 800x800 as the desired size, the longest side will be 800, and the other side will be calculated to keep the same ratio. That's how I always resized my photos to publish online : I put 2000 in both field, and there you go !
So to me, the only additional option that could be added would be a tickbox called "keep aspect ratio". Because right now, if you really want 2000x2000, with a non square initial image, you cannot do it.
