Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-wlan-ng

/etc/modprobe.d/linux-wlan-ng needs to end with .conf

$ sudo modprobe foo
WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/linux-wlan-ng, it will be ignored in a future release.

Thanks for your report. I think we stopped shipping any modprobe file already in 0.2.8+svn1851+dfsg-1. Is this an upgraded system from before that time?

Ah, you're totally right. dpkg -L was lying to me. Perhaps there was missing logic to clean up the removed conffile? Anyway, closing the bug.

Good. I will look at adding the conffile cleanup to the Debian package, but it is nothing we should spend time on for Ubuntu. BTW, you most probably do not need the package at all any longer.
