Subject: inkscape: Finnish mnemonic conflicts between top-level menus
Date: Mon, 11 Jun 2012 01:56:54 +0300
[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Package: inkscape
Severity: normal
Tags: l10n

When I run Inkscape with LANG=fi_FI.utf8, the menu bar has the
following mnemonics for menus (English equivalents in parentheses):

  _Tiedosto (_File)
  _Muokkaa (_Edit)
  _Näytä (_View)
  _Taso (_Layer)
  _Kohde (_Object)
  _Polku (_Path)
  _Teksti (_Text)
  _Suotimet (Filter_s)
  Laajennokset (Exte_nsions)
  _Ohje (_Help)

When I press Alt+T, Inkscape opens one of the three menus
beginning with T: Tiedosto, Taso, or Teksti. Worse, it changes
each time. This makes it very inconvenient to use the menus by
keyboard. Please change the mnemonics of Taso and Teksti so they
don't conflict with Tiedosto or other menus.

There are also conflicts within the Tiedosto menu, but they are
harder to fix and less important than the conflicts between the
top-level menus, so I'm not requesting any change to those now.

Because the mnemonics of the menus are already translated in PO
files, I think this bug has a better chance of getting fixed than, which
was marked wontfix.
