Bug Description

More often than not, when a file is opened in Bless, edited and then saved, a pop-up windows says "Error saving file <name>" "There is not enough space on the device to save file '<tmp file name>'.bless". The HD has several gigs free and no other applications complain.

I found this only happen when the size of the file has changed. Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit.

The problem is bless doesn't have a value for the temp directory, and wont let it be change. Found a work around. Edit the file ~/.config/bless/preferences.xml, change the line <pref name="ByteBuffer.TempDir" /> to <pref name="ByteBuffer.TempDir">[somedir]</pref> replace [somedir] with desired location to temp folder. Note: directory path has to be absolute.

There is a one-line patch that apparently fixes the problem available at the following link. I haven't tried the patch, however.

Christian Johnson's workaround works for me, most probably it will work for you, please try that rather than expecting an unmaintained project to be patched

Apparently no special "workaround" is necessary. The only thing I had to do to solve the issue was open "preferences" under the "Edit" menu and change one simple entry. Where it says "Temporary Directory". Create a directory path for that field and the problem should be resolved (it was for me).

I followed synjystyc's advice from 2015-12-27. At first I typed in the temp directory path by hand like ~/tmp/bless, and when I'd press save, it'd crash the app. Changing it to /home/tylercollier/tmp/bless worked. Thanks!
