I reproduced this FTBFS bug today with a freshly updated hardy sbuilder. However, version 1.80-1 from Debian builds fine. Please sync the new version from Debian (unstable).

There are some feature enhancements/modifications in the new version however, so I am sending this by the FFe team for review.

Attached please find the relevant part of upstream's changes file.
