There are kernel modules involved. It is likely that things get broken.

Better try the provided Debian package instead.

Yes its like that. There was this noob here saying that there was kernel modules involved, so off course it had to crash and fail. Of course Getdeb is smart enough to understand that the kernel modules is not interfering and only there to emulate a installed webacam. This off course to avoid any compatibility issue that might ever exist with any system everywhere. but of course it is "likely that things get broken" LOL

Actually this "noob" is the same person who packaged the application in the end...

Pereki87,
I suggest you to read:
http://www.ubuntu.com/community/conduct

Be respectful. The Ubuntu community and its members treat one another with respect. Everyone can make a valuable contribution to Ubuntu. We may not always agree, but disagreement is no excuse for poor behaviour and poor manners. We might all experience some frustration now and then, but we cannot allow that frustration to turn into a personal attack. It's important to remember that a community where people feel uncomfortable or threatened is not a productive one. We expect members of the Ubuntu community to be respectful when dealing with other contributors as well as with people outside the Ubuntu project and with users of Ubuntu.

As far as I know, much of the functionality in this has been wrapped into OBS Studio, available in the repos. Closing this old bug.
