Bug Description

AlgoScore is a graphical environment for algorithmic composition, where
music is constructed directly in an interactive graphical score. The
result is output as audio (through CSound), arbitrary control data
(through JACK ports) for control of other applications, MIDI through
JACK or to file, or OpenSoundControl messages. The generated audio can
be played back through JACK or exported to an audiofile.

Please find more information here

http://gna.org/projects/algoscore
http://kymatica.com/Software/AlgoScore#download

AlgoScore has been tested on GNU/Linux and Mac OS X, but should probably be compilable on other POSIX conformant operating systems as well.

AlgoScore is free software and is released under the terms of GNU General Public License.

sorry, I don't know how to file bug reports properly, so much
information to wade through. Thanks so much for packaging this, sorry
I'm not sure what Null project is, I'm just a musician wanting to use
this software and the instructions on the Algoscore site didn't work for
me, all the prerequisites it said it needed were already installed and
yet it said it couldn't find them....

The application needs liblo0-dev >= 0.24 to compile. We have only version 0.23 available on Debian. I will fill this as bug.

If packaging this requires a more recent version of a system library than available in the official karmic repositories we cannot publish it on getdeb.

@Christoph Korn: You're right. I hoped the package would be synced in time for Karmic... As far as I know the liblo lib is compatible with the existing packages in the Karmic repositories - but there is always a little bit of danger left.
Since GetDeb uses an APT repository it makes no sense to add this lib, because everyone who adds the GetDeb-repo will have his/her liblo updated - not all users want this.
@Hamish Low: If the package gets accepted for Debian, you can use the Debian package for Ubuntu. Waiting for a sponsor at REVU takes ages.

Can't commit the package at time. We have to wait until the ABS is working again. Please be patient... :-)

Hi there!
I again uploaded the package to the build system... Could someone please publish it on GetDeb? (Christian? Joao?)
I worked with the Debian guys to update liblo, the version present in Ubuntu Lucid is now high enough for Algoscore. Also, the packaging and the patches have good quality. Should be easy to publish.

Mathias,
sorry for the insufficient communication.

The build system is accepting and building packages but is not integrated yet with the new archive hosting, I plan to have this fixed by next week.

I will try to get the uploaded packages from the "dead" archive.

Thanks

Ah, thanks for the clearification! I uploaded the stuff again about two hours ago...
Where should we upload packages, if the ABS is not integrated yet? (Have I missed a mail or instructions?)

João Pinto (joaopinto) wrote :

Matthias,
I have disabled the bridge to the old server right now. Uploading for the ABS should be safe.
Please note that after being built the packages will be kept on the ABS queue before being imported to the archive. I am still working on that part.

Thanks
