CDEmu

Bug Description

CDemu is a software suite designed to emulate an optical drive+disc (CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs etc.)

CDEmu consists of:
    * a kernel module implementing a virtual SCSI host bus adapter,
    * libmirage which is a software library for interpreting optical disc images,
    * a daemon which emulates the functionality of a SCSI optical drive+disc,
    * textmode and GTK clients for controlling the emulator.

URL : http://cdemu.sourceforge.net/
License : GNU/GPL v2 (or later).

Can you upload it to REVU too? I don't have a login for mentors.debian.net

Bumping back to 'Triaged' until then.

Hi! I'm one of the developers on the CDEmu project.

I'm pleased to say that we've put up a brand new version of CDEmu (many thanks to Rok for hard work) and I have prepared buildscripts for ubuntu and packages for ubuntu 7.10 (i386), which can be found on this URL:
http://kabelkaos.net/cdemu/ubuntu/

How do I go about requesting maintainership over the DEB packaging?

You can (and I think you should) upload your packages to REVU, see the instructions here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU/Packages/REVU
As for the maintainership, I am not sure, but you would have to become a MOTU for it (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU)

Right. Packages have been uploaded to REVU.
I've also uploaded them to my PPA, but as many others have experienced I have problems deleting my files, so I can't recompile the packages. *sigh*

Your packages didn't reach Intrepid archives in time before Feature Freeze. Unsubscribing u-u-s for now.

I'm running Lucid Alpha now, and still no cdemu. I would really like to see this piece of software hitting the repo's, as there is no comparable program available. Is there a possibility cdemu and gcdemu will be added to Lucid?

I've lost interest, if anyone else wants to push the packages they are welcome to do so.

There's updated package scripts in the subversion repository.

Recently was a new ubuntu release. Now they are open for new software packages. It's a good time to resubmit it now.
