There's a comment in the source code about this:
# Exit to menu if /boot is on SATA RAID/multipath; we
# don't support device selection in that case
Dustin, the reported behaviour is at slight variance with the comment (although I believe the reported behaviour, looking at line 763 of grub-installer that sets frdev to non-empty for mdadm). Was this deliberate? Can we fix it to offer device selection, which I do think would be a good idea? |
